Professor Aleksei M. Zheltikov

Aleksei Zheltikov graduated from the Physics Faculty, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, in 1987. He received his Candidate of Science degree in 1990 and his Doctor of Science degree in 1999. Now, he is a Professor of the Physics Faculty, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, and a Professor of the International Laser Center of the same university. Scientific interest of Aleksei Zheltikov include photonics and nonlinear laser spectroscopy. He is an author of more than 150 scientific publications, one textbook, and six monographic reviews. He is also an editor of three books of proceedings and an author of an encyclopedia article and two book chapters. Aleksei Zheltikov has won the 1997 State Prize of Russian Federation for young scientists, the 1996 Prize of European Academy, and the 2000 I.I. Shuvalov Prize for research from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. The research of his group at Moscow State University is supported by the President of Russian Federation grant, Russian Foundation for Basic Research, Ministry of Industry, Science, and Technologies of Russian Federation, the Volkswagen Foundation, the Civilian Research and Development Foundation, the Russian--Belarussian and Russian--Italian research programs. He supervises the research project involving four Russian research teams and five Italian research groups from different institutes included by the governments of Russia and Italy in the list of the most significant Russian--Italian research projects. Aleksei Zheltikov also heads the research of the Joint Nonlinear Spectroscopy Laboratory of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University and P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute, which is supported by the "Integration" Federal Program of Russian Federation and a special program of Russian Academy of Sciences. As a part of his lecturing activity at the Physics Faculty, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Aleksei Zheltikov developed lecture courses on "Basics of Photonics and Optical Technologies" and "Methods of Coherent Control and Time-Resolved Spectroscopy." He is also an author of several short courses on various problems of nonlinear optics and laser physics, including lecture courses delivered as a part of the teaching activity of the "Basic Optics and Spectroscopy" Education and Research Center (Moscow, Russia, 1999--2001), during international conferences and summer schools, such as The Quantum Optics Summer School (Bonn, Germany, 1999), Linear and Nonlinear Nanoscale Optics Summer School (Erice, Italy, 2000), XVII International Conference on Coherent and Nonlinear Optics (Minsk, Belarus, 2001), and "Optics'2000" congress (St. Petersburg, 2000), and at leading universities, including Princeton University, Universities of Dayton, Rome, Wurzburg, Pisa, Palermo, and research centers, such as ENEA (Frascati), US Army Aviation and Missile Command Research Office (Huntsville), and ONERA, Palaiseau.

Aleksei Zheltikov is a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Raman Spectroscopy, a member of the steering committee of the International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy, and a member of program committees of several international conferences on nonlinear optics and laser physics, including the International Quantum Electronics Conference (IQEC'2002), International Conference on Coherent and Nonlinear Optics (ICONO), International Laser Physics Workshop (LPHYS), European CARS Workshop (ECW'2000), serving also as a Vice-Chairman of the Italian--Russian Laser Symposium (ITARUS).
